'You worry too much about what goes
into your mouth and not enough about what comes out of it' by Leah Chase.

I am Shanny {SH ahun knee'}, just Shanny. I am also known in some parts as Ms. Shanny, Sophia, Aunt Shirley, Shan and Shanise B. to name a few. I am from Philadelphia, Pa and I am 35 years old.

I am a great lover of creativity. From music to childbirth, I have a deep love and respect for it all. Some of my favorite passions are Music, Photography, Art, Spoken Word, and Writing. While, I have always been creative…it was a long walk to confidence in my creativity. I do not consider myself a performer. Being creative is where I find solace. There is not any one thing that prompts me to create. This may sound somewhat korny or even cliche, but it was just an urge. My influences are God, Love, My Grandmother and My Son are tops on my list. While I create in the name of solace, if there were something I would want others to take from my creations, it is Love.

Some of my favorite famous artists are Sonia Sanchez, George Duke, Phyllis Hyman, Nikki Giovanni, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Gill Scott-Heron, Tupac Shakur, Duke Ellington, Dr. Nina Simone, and Miles Davis.

My all time favorite work of art is Love.

My favorite song at the moment is ‘The Rose That Grew From Concrete’ by Tupac.

I do not want to make this to long so I am going to close this with a question someone asked me and my answer. What types of issues would you like more writers focus on? I would like to see more writers focus on their own vibe. I and nor can anyone else tell a creator what issue to focus on. To me that is like telling God to focus on creating flowers. That is a mistake that I had made early in my writing. Instead of listen to the vibe, I was trying to focus on an issue. I am sure others have made and may still be making that same mistake. I will say this if you feel you would like to create. The first thing you need to do is listening to your Soul.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying what I have here. If you have any questions, etc...you can drop me a line, here.
